We’re currently up but have yet to announce a grand launch - still adding a bunch of writings. We appreciate everyone’s extended patience.
OUR MANTRA: WE WANT THE REPUBLICANS OUT OF OUR BEDROOMS, THE DEMOCRATS OUT OF OUR WALLETS AND BOTH OUT OF OUR FIRST AND SECOND AMENDMENT RIGHTS
July 22nd, 2009QUESTION OF THE DAY - GLOBAL-WARMING MEETS GLOBAL-COOLING
July 1st, 2009“CAP AND TRADE” is hot on Capitol Hill as a strategy for fighting global-warming despite the fact that our earth has been cooling for the last decade - http://tinyurl.com/lcephd.
This legislation would let the government dictate to companies the amount of carbon dioxide emissions they’re permitted to generate - each sector would be given different amounts. If a company generates less than what they’re allowed, they may then sell their unused allocations to other companies needing more latitude to avoid fines, hence the term “cap and trade.” Ultimately, any costs incurred from the purchase of these units would be passed onto consumers. Currently, many congressmen and senators from strong farming states are encountering a backlash of grief because farmers require an immense amount of energy to grow, harvest and distribute their foods.
QUESTION OF THE DAY - North Korea
June 30th, 2009North Korea is threatening to launch a long-range ballistic missile (Taepondong-2) against Hawaii this July 4th. Its range is 4,000 miles while the distance is 4,500 - but this estimate is at the mercy of our last best intelligence. Given that they successfully detonated a nuclear explosion underground last month, haven’t they already demonstrated progress? Accordingly, whether they miss Hawaii or we’re able to deflect it, shouldn’t we launch a missile response ourselves? I say yes. If incentives reinforce good behavior, then don’t disincentives counter the bad? Wouldn’t our counter-attack save more American lives by denying North Korea the impression that they can keep trying with impunity?
